First Annual Gainesville/Hall Dragon Boat Challenge
June 7, 2014 at the Lake Lanier Olympic Center

Looking for a great team building opportunity for your corporate, governmental, or community organization? Challenge your local competition at the first annual Gainesville/Hall Dragon Boat Challenge and help Lanier Canoe & Kayak Club (LCKC) support the Hall County Special Olympics program.

Here’s how it works:
  • Recruit a team of 20 people (no experience or equipment required) to paddle a boat.
  • Designate a team captain who will handle the registration process.
  • Register the team and pay the team entry fee of $600 – that’s just $28.57 per person – the price of a typical 5k run!
  • Schedule a practice time after business hours the week before the race – June 2-6
  • Show up at the scheduled practice time and then again for a fun day on the lake – June 7

LCKC provides a steersperson and you can bring your own drummer or we will provide one for you. Teams will compete in distances of 200 meter, 100 meter, and an optional 1,000 meter race in a looped course.

All types of groups are welcome – small and large corporations, fire departments and law enforcement, youth sports organizations, schools, churches, neighborhoods, etc.

Want to see what a race looks like? Check out these videos from the 2013 Atlanta Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival that was also hosted by LCKC.
